Trigger warning for today’s comic because it deals with how the news reports on sexual assault.
A few years ago, I never would have considered putting a trigger warning on a comic but it’s important to learn to better yourself and not resist simple things that take zero effort and are crucially important for some people. They’re going through enough as it is.
With the news of Roy Moore and Louis CK coming out on the same day (not to mention countless others lately), I have never heard the phrase “if these allegations are true” so repeatedly from so many different politicians and news pundits. If it were a drinking game, you’d be dead by the next commercial break.
HOLY SWEET JEEBUS, Brian!! Are you LIVING inside FAUX Noise H.Q.?? NEVER BEFORE has their lack of “Fair and Balanced” nonsense been shown MORE ACCURATELY!! Especially as showcased by Lumpy and his differing reactions to the accusations against Spacey and Weinstein, and Rabid Roy Moore.
Somehow, knowing how these things usually go, I would’ve been less surprised if the idiot lunatic bigot Roy Moore was outed as being gay. Probably with a “wide stance” in an airport restroom……….
And yet, I predict that Judge Moore WILL be elected to the Senate by the denizens of Alabama and the governing Republicans of the Senate WILL seat him – because republicans, nationwide AND in the halls of Congress have repeatedly demonstrated that, on the whole, if they ever HAD morals or a moral compass, that morality is irretrievably lost! Pedophilia is no longer"that big a deal!"
Pedophilia! A man who preys on little girls, a man who preys on little boys. How much difference is there between the two? GRRRRRR SORRY I FIND BOTH OF THEM SICKENING. As for his political career, you guys are probably right. That good old boys club, the GOP, will probably give him a slide. Excellent panel today Mr. Carroll. And I’m embarrassed to say in the interest of fairness I have been known to say “if the allegations are true”. It’s like they always say in a courtroom the “alleged perpetrator”. It doesn’t stop me from thinking that with that many people accusing someone of the exact same M O that they really must be guilty, but the American justice system says innocent until proven otherwise. But I like this panel. It shows the fallacy of leaning over backwards to be fair. When it’s probably obvious that they really did it!
Today is the 242nd birthday of the United States Marine Corps. On November 10th, 1775 the United States established the Marine Corps to defend our nation on the Sea, on Land, and in the Air. Semper Fidelis. A very long history of faithful service to our country. Happy birthday!
As I’ve written elsewhere, I’ve had men and boys coming on to me since I was 12. Although I was what was known as “gently raised,” I understood that this was part of life. It was a “dance”: they came on, they got pushed away. None of my girlfriends or I gave a second thought to anybody’s feelings getting hurt. Being a contentious soul, as well as very fortunate and very wary, nothing every came of any of the incidents. Thing is, I always made sure I never gave anyone the idea I was open to the come-on; and if that wasn’t enough there was the escalating “NO!”
And, above all, do not expect the Republican leadership to ‘protect’ us from this type of filth! Remember that, at one time, Paul Ryan, the leader of the republican Invertebrates in the House of Representatives, roundly condemned Donald john Trump for Donnie’s self-admitted sexual assaults! And, yet, they’ve “kissed and made up”! (Doesn’t THAT make a ‘pretty’ mental picture for us all to carry in our minds!?!)
