Contractors ARE what Trump and friends intend to replace the whole government with, and with Erik Prince one step from his sister at Education, the military will be his as well.
It’s a scam, pure and simple. And what really hurts is that Tesla put in a proposal which would have created a NON-grid using solar power and batteries that might have protected PR from this kind of thing in the future — because God knows there will be, thanks to global warming — but instead it went to a crony who cannot possibly do the job. Another legacy of the Bush administration, I suspect: if the ex-CEO of Halliburton can give exclusive no-bid contracts to HIS OWN COMPANY, the sky’s the limit. Especially for a corrupt, Mob-linked liar like Trump.
That power grid setup from Tesla could have been the making of PR’s energy independence for future hurricane disasters. There will always be hurricanes.
There is a problem with not having technically knowledgeable representatives in government (who are instead inclined to cronyism). When even the Saudi government is planning massive renewable systems, you know that the end of oil is near as the primary energy source … https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Saudi-Arabia-To-Spend-50-Billion-On-Massive-Solar-Push.html

Republicans love their corruption and graft.
Cuts from health care will go to subsidize the coal industry.

Ok, New Rule! After he’s elected for the first time, a politician has to live like a poor person for a month.
