and the GOP holds it’s breath to see what crazy scheme Trump will come up with then destroy with his off-the-cuff remarks. Is it great yet?

Republicans don’t care how big the debt may get as long as billionaires get their tax breaks and the poor are deprived of health care. Truly an evil agenda.

Yeah, a country with no income. There go the roads, the interstates, the military, the cops, the firemen, the courts, the laws, the order, the schools, the libraries, the arts. We can all move back into caves and throw rocks at one another.

There is NO DIRECT comparison between the federal government and the individual American family – it truly IS as case of “apples” and “oranges”! However, some rough analogies are STILL possible – and one that still works, as long as you don’t pursue it too far is comparing the U.S. Congress to a family “breadwinner” in which the “breadwinner” approaches his employer and demands a reduction in pay because his credit card and other bills are mounting and getting out of hand. That is EXACTLY what the Senate is proposing with this “tax cut” plan of theirs! Supposedly, reducing taxes paid by the “upper crust” is going to increase the monies flowing into the economy in some ‘mysterious’ way! This ludicrous idea was first advanced by ‘Cowboy’ Ronald Reagan and was immediately labeled “Voodoo Economics” by the much more level-headed George H.W. Bush – and IT STILL IS!

“Publicly and privately, supporters of the Republican tax effort say they are concerned that Mr. Trump will make a hard task even harder.

The Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act was a similarly difficult effort, and the president’s comments and actions were often not helpful.

For instance, Mr. Trump hosted House Republicans in the Rose Garden to celebrate passage of a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, only to call the same bill “mean” later.

Last week, he confounded Republicans again by backing away from his endorsement of a bipartisan Senate proposal to stabilize health insurance markets."

Does everyone realizes that the specter of a failed government looms over all of us. We’ve seen failed governments in third world countries. Yet we’ve always considered ourselves lucky to be a world leader, it could never happen to us. Or could it?

The supply side canard again. In a good economy, as we have now, we should increase revenues.

The Democrats are the grown-ups in budgetary matters.

Trickle down did’nt work in the 80’s and Kansas tried tax cuts that didn’t work. They are a financially hurting state and will have to raise taxes.
