Trump has gone on 70 golf trips, costing US taxpayers at least $74 million. Price resigned because of exorbitant travel costs (many suspect real reason is ACA not getting repealed). Pence goes to a football game just to leave early – he even told reporters he was going to do it – travel cost $250,000. Rick Perry insists his travel must be on private or government planes despite the higher costs.
Please note, for whatever it’s worth, the Republican Party, sometimes referred to as the Grand Old Party, or G.O.P., is not now nor has it been, for several years, THE or even A conservative party! Since the advent of Nixon, the “party of Lincoln” has morphed into something neither Abe (or even Dwight) would easily recognize! The G.O.P. stands for “small government” only in so far as it want most financial decisions made at the state level while most “social” decisions should be made on a federal level by a very “hand-picked crew” of VERY select religious bigots and white nationalists! It is understood that controlling “blue” states is more trouble than it’s worth, so, while still demanding financial contributions from those states, they will, otherwise, be left to fend for themselves (see federal response to Superstorm Sandy victims). It is also vitally necessary that the federal government insinuate itself into EVERY facet of American female’s lices, cradle-to-grave Or at least during their fecund years to insure total control of their breeding cycles! And if the preceding sentence seems to reduce women to the status of animal stock, please note that, to most republicans, that’s exactly how they’re viewed, having NO INTRINSIC VALUE beyond that of breeding stock! “Barefoot & pregnant” is a republican credo , not a derision!
Republicans wish to return America to a “simpler” time! Most wish to return to the 1950’s at least, more than a few wish a return to pre-1920 (specifically, pre-8-18-1920). And more than a few wish a return to pre-1860 days – The REAL GOOD OLD DAYS – for a very select few
