Taking a knee if front of a casket is respectful. Although you seem to be trying to make some other point that is inappropriate and disrespectful yourself.

Seriously Kelly? Did you read what he said? There is absolutely no human decency in that man. Absolutely none. What kind of monster is rude to a grieving widow……in front of witnesses I might add.

I sat for the national anthem throughout the Viet Nam war. So many lives wasted for all the wrong reasons. Patriotism was used as club to justify suppressing dissent, as we went deeper and deeper into a swamp of our stupidity.

So Trump LIES about having sent the letters, and then ONLY when he could no longer ignore the families.

Then, he LIES about Obama and other presidents not having done so.

Then, he calls the widow and says that her dead husband knew what he signed up for. IOW, he was asking for it and has no one to blame but himself.

There is no moral equivalency between “taking a knee” and disrespecting a fallen service member. YOU are disrespectful, Mr. Kelly! :- (

Employers can’t punish employees for “concerted activity for mutual aid”

The real issue in the anthem protest cases is whether the players’ actions constitute “concerted activity for mutual aid or protection,” which is what federal labor law protects. ….

First, race discrimination — and certainly the acute kind that manifests as police violence — affects the targets of that discrimination across all spheres of their lives. Police violence directed at African-American men may happen away from the workplace, but that can’t mean that police violence has no impact on African-American men at work. Indeed, the idea that police violence, and other forms of race discrimination, can somehow be cabined away from work, just because that discrimination occurs away from work, is false. ….

Second, the NFL and the agreement the league has with the players stresses repeatedly that being an NFL player involves more than what happens on the field. ….

In other words, the job of being a football player involves much more of what in many other occupations might be classified as non-work or non-employment matters.

Third, although all the protesters have solid protection from labor law for the reasons I’ve outlined, it would be even more blatantly illegal to bench anthem protesters in cases in which they are taking a knee as a means of showing support for teammates threatened with discipline for their actions….

One final note. Even if anthem protests are protected by federal labor law, the players’ collective bargaining agreement could, in theory, waive their right to engage in them. …

No one has ever accused me of being at a loss for words. This is one of those times I find myself struggling to find the words to express my disgust at a situation so grossly misrepresented. How does a peaceful protest compare to a rude lack of empathy for a grieving Widow?

I’m starting to think that Steve Kelley is Johnsullivan1’s real name.

I cannot comprehend how you – I’m talking to you, Mr. Kelley, and anyone who happens to believe this is acceptable – can possibly equate insulting a dead soldier’s survivors to an act guaranteed by the Constitution. Even, maybe especially, as a conservative, I find this despicable.

When Trump finally called the mother of a soldier killed in action he was very disrespectful to her, her husband, the soldier and his wife. But you are mad because black guys don’t want to be shot by the police for nothing?

IDAHOSER, unlike conservatives, progressives, liberals and democrats, very rarely use republican tactics.

No one would pay me to do anything.

Hopefully, Kelley would delete this toon if given another chance!
