The NRA always says “when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.” After the tragic Vegas slaughter, their “axiom” is proven false yet again. Now is the time to regulate weapons.
Congress is too scared to act on gun violence, what are they worried about? They’ll be remembered for putting a stop to maniacs shooting down crowds in the streets, at concerts, in clubs and the children in our school? Would that weigh on their conscience or would they just miss the money?
Our political system here in America is showing the world WHY political governmental entities seldom if ever survive, intact, more than three centuries! The ability to adjust to changing conditions is a necessary survival characteristic, and one we’re rapidly losing! We’re not “dead”, yet, but we’re becoming ‘moribund’!
What is truly disgusting is that the NRA really doesn’t give that much money compared to other lobbyists. They run a false PR campaign that unfortunately seems to work.
I am a combat veteran (river boats in Vietnam) who trained with more weapons than most. I do not own a gun because I realized that I had an anger management problem when I got out of the service. Many gun owners seem to have an anger management problem at least as bad as I did, but the NRA doesn’t seem concerned with that.
Congress could make it illegal to own any kind of firearm and that would not stop killings. Evil people will find a way. Terrorists killed 2977 on 9/11 using box cutters and airplanes. McVeigh and Nichols killed 168 (including 19 children), injured over 680 others, and destroyed one-third of the Murrah Federal Building with a rented truck and fertilizer. Evil is in the heart of man…not in the tools used!

Why limit this to gun violence?

As long as the NRA is allowed to buy congressmen with their BRIBES, this will continue!

The only way to change things is to vote out Republicans.

Those shell casings should really be rolled up $100 bills from the NRA!

Excellent comment, Mr. Breen. Really well done! Says it all, except for the part about the NRA paying for the ostrich.

The Republican Party is pro life until that concept bumps into the vigorous exercise of the 2nd Amendment.
