    And corn still is remarkable. And soybeans, too. They are so much easier to plant, grow, and harvest than fresh vegetables (not necessarily better, but our chemical and processed food industries depend on them). Eventually corn and soybeans will be planted, tended, and harvested by agricultural robots. But not necessarily all in this country. Easy agriculture with huge monocultures of specialized varieties will spell eventual crop failures and famines in many parts of the world. Yeah, I know — Debby Downer.

    Mr. Corn is Brian’s answer to Mr. Butts? (Apparently too much corn causes a president to shrink, because Jefferson seems to be about half a foot down…….)

    One wonders how much lobbyists are willing to spend for defense contracts?. Since the budget has raised defense spending it seems there is more money there.
