Marijuana can often be used for relief of chronic pain. Political short sightedness coupled with big phama keeps this safer option from the market. Stupid!
Okay, I get so tired of hearing about addictive personalities when that is not what you’re working with here. The real problem here is what it is always been. Pain control. It is not about addictive personalities. There are people out there who live every day of their lives in excruciating pain. And there are people out there who suicide because of it. You want to blame opioids for their deaths.? Blame the drug companies and the insurance companiDrug companies and insurance companies encourage opioid addiction. There are pain relief drugs for people who suffer from chronic pain that are not addictive and are effective but they are expensive. so the drug companies get more profit from them but and it’s a big but, the insurance companies don’t want to pay for them. So in partnership with drug companies, insurance companies encourage doctors to prescribe low-cost opioid vrdrugs for long-term pain relief. Is that clear? ? did I miss the point? Long-term effective drugs that are non addictive, that cost upwards of $400 a month compared to long-term addictive pain relief that cost $24 a month. Do you see the difference? When a patient has to pay for their own drugs for their long-term pain relief, which one will the doctor prescribed? There are people out there who will suicide rather than live with long-term excruciating debilitating crippling pain. And the doctors will say that death is opioid related. So you can get on your high horse and say oh pain medication is bad! Outlaw It! Tell that to The Men Who come back…the men and women who come back from Afghanistan! Tell that to cancer patients who have been mutilated by their disease! Tell that to anyone who has been through any catastrophe and must now live with any debilitating physical handicap. There are always blanket bills out there to outlaw opioid drugs and no way to replace their function for people who live with pain everyday and there are always self-righteous people who demand lthose laws for those drugs.
A high cost item which is addictive? What more could a corporation want? Easy access to meat citizen’s wallets and a reason for them to keep coming back.

This is why heroin should be legal, it not only gets rid of the pain, it gives one a sense of well being the other opioids don’t.
