In all fairness, it seems to mean something different to everyone who talks about it nowadays – a tendency not helped by the wonderful folks who claim that feminism means whatever you want it to mean.

I first heard that from a young woman way back in the 1980s, when I explained what feminism had done in the previous 20 years. “But that’s just common sense”, she said. Another example is hearing underpaid working class people sneering at trade unions.

Is this a link to Non Sequitur which has had one of their characters protesting the laws of gravity? Funny thing is, you can choose any gender you want, you can protest gravity, but in the end , reality wins every time.

Reminds me of how I used to beat my head against the wall every time I heard a teenage girl giggling about how she could never be a feminist because the boys wouldn’t like her.

There’s still a long way to go. We’re seeing more laws that interfere with a woman’s doctor/patient relationship. I wonder how men would feel if the law interjected itself between them and their urologist. There’s been some improvement in pay (80% vs 60% in the 60’s) but not enough. Incidents of tacit approval of harassment are still around. There is still a lot of work to do! But there is one area where I doubt we will ever see equality because while military leaders have recently suggested it congress isn’t receptive to the idea. Selective Service registration for all.

Panel two: The major can wait, put a high priority on gender identity because the estrogen versus testosterone game has started and you want to be on the right team.

The fact that the Republicans are going to fall short again in their attempt to remove Obama Care is exactly why trump has picked a fight with black players in the NFL and NBA. Smoke and mirrors to distract from another failure. And his simple minded base will eat it up.

No one has to accept trump. It is still a free country for now.

I am glad that our NFL players are choosing to exercise their first amendment rights and their power to shine a light on injustice. Ironically, trump will only increase their activity by complaining about it, as well as distract from the Russia investigation, which is too bad in the case of the latter. Our American NFL players have the power to express themselves in a way that many of our wonderful MLB players can’t, since many of them are from places like Venezuela and the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Their situation is more problematic, since they obviously would prefer to be in the United States. The US has always stood for freedom of speech among other things.

I am proud of our American NBA players for making a stand too. I have a feeling the college players are not making a stand since they have no power to do so. They are probably being threatened with loss of scholarship, etc.

So did Doonesbury and Stone Soup coordinate today, or is it just a coincidence? http://www.gocomics.com/stonesoup?ct=v&cti=171105

The last time a number of strips coordinated was for Alley Oop’s anniversary and there was another bigger one. As for this? I don’t know.

Wait, I don’t get it. You mean Rush Limbaugh has been misrepresenting Feminism for the past 30 years? That just can’t be.
