Agree, immigrants’ children do enjoy an outstanding degree of success. I’m talking about Asians, their presence is notable in all branches of science, mathematics, higher education, and fine arts. More power to them!
To zippy: Looks like you’ve picked up your marching orders from the new right-wing talking points memo. “Let’s try to split off Asian Americans from other people of color!” Trouble is, it’s not nearly a full picture. Hmong Americans, for instance, have abysmal success rates in our school systems, and are one of the poorest groups in the US. This, despite the fact that they fought for us in our misadventures in Southeast Asia. And some of the most successful scientists in a range of fields are Latinos and African Americans. We just usually don’t hear about them unless they’re Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
