In China, when the people witnessed an eclipse, they thought a dragon was trying to eat the sun. Hsi and Ho, a pair of astronomers were executed for not warning them about it.

    A bear?

Does that mean we’re going to have a “polar” eclipse?

Excuse me while I wash the tomatoes off my face…

When Hel’s wolves start devouring the Sun is when Ragnarok is happening. Time of the Götterdammerung. “Twilight of the Gods” the end of all things…

The way the weather has been the last few weeks, just about the entire path of the eclipse has been covered by clouds, especially east of Kansas City. Let us hope we can get some breaks in the clouds come Aug. 21.

I believe that about the bear, but who would’ve put it back? Maybe a Golden Retriever?

Ha! That’s a good one. Know what else is funny? Ancient people used to believe they could burn their way through fossil fuels by the megaton without somehow changing Earth.

“There’s always the threat of an attack by, say, a giant space dragon, the kind that eats the sun once a month. It’s a nuisance, but what can you expect from reptiles? Did I mention my nose is on fire, and that I have 15 wild badgers living in my trousers?”
