Good morning, Vagabonds. I got home yesterday morning. Although I spent 8 hours at the Dublin Airport, I couldn’t see the city because I arrived after Midnight, so I put 2 upholstered chairs together and relaxed while using my laptop.Unfortunately, my inhaler fell out of my pocket in the previous flight, so I decided upon arriving at JFK (did you know you go through U.S. Immigration at Dublin Airport?) not to take the bus and subway but to call my friend to take me home. When I reached home I couldn’t find my keys and no one was home. I called my roommate and he came and opened the door for me. (Early this morning I found my keys in a different suitcase).

It’s good to be home, but I miss my new German relatives.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

The humidity around here has improved dramatically. This morning it is only about 20% as opposed to the 80% on Tuesday. Thank you, God!

The campground is in the process of repairing and recoating all of the roads with tar. So far they have done 3 out of 4 sections, but were delayed by rain on both Tuesdays past. It’s been interesting trying to find a way around without driving over or stepping in the hot tar. Even the parts done on the previous day were still a little sticky in places. We learned not to step on anything that looked shiny in the road.

Yesterday we both had our eyes checked and ordered new glasses. Good news: my retinas and optic nerves are healthy. Bad news: I am starting to get cataracts. Nothing major yet, but he wants me to have them checked annually to monitor the progress. Did you know that Lens Crafters no longer creates glasses on the premises? We took Michael’s prescription to them because we wanted his new glasses right away. Oops. Both pairs, from different sources, should be ready in 7 to 10 working days. That means they will be available approximately the 10th. We hope.

Today is grocery shopping and a card game this evening. And lots of reading. Loving the lifestyle so far.

    Everyone have a blessed day.

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

Everyone seems in good form today. I had my pedicure yesterday. However, for some reason the brain thought it was an 11:00 appointment. When I came strolling in, Kate informed me it was a 1:00 appointment. Boy! Did I get that wrong! So, we had to kill 2 hours. Did a bunch of shopping for things that we needed anyway. Tanked up the car for our trip this weekend, so it saved us a few minutes Saturday.

We are heading to the airshow at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA. This will be only the 2nd airshow we will have attended this year. They have cut WAY back on shows. Which is really unfortunate because it’s a really great way to recruit the heroes of tomorrow. While I was walking the show last weekend, I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of the Guard, and you can see they LOVE what they are doing. So nice to see young people excited about their jobs.

Jan, cataracts are not a problem. When the time comes, the procedure takes only 8 minutes, and you can SEE 20/20 again! Incredible!
