I think it was Jay Leno who said (referring to the then-UN Secretary General) that he had heard that Boutros was the Egyptian equivalent of “Peter,” thus leaving “Ghali” to mean pumpkin eater. Perhaps a little obscure now, but it was funny at the time…..

Just in case any don’t know: Pumpkins are in the gourd family — along with watermelons, squash, cucumbers.
I have a few gourd vines growing, don’t know how they will fare.
