I have made it a policy to never loan out my tools to anyone. I’ll lend my car or my golf cart but not my tools. For some reason people think that tools don’t need to be returned or respected or cleaned if they ever do get returned, but most people will take care of a vehicle.

First rule of loaning Chainsaws: If they knew how to use it without tearing it up and had the money to buy the replacement, they would already own a chainsaw.

Poodlegroomer: I asked a guy at work to loan me his chainsaw years ago. He sais Sorry , no. I really don’t want to loan it out. I was a little miffed at the time but now that I have one myself I understand why he didn’t want to. I won’t loan mine out, either. I will come and do the work that needs to be done for someone no problem. Happy to do it. But no loaning.
