Is psychopathy a legal form of insanity? As far as I know, not all mental or physical conditions of the brain are considered to be forms of insanity. For that reason, a psychopathic dumpster would be ineligible for using an insanity defense.
The insanity defense, also known as the mental disorder defense, is a defense by excuse in a criminal case, arguing that the defendant is not responsible for their actions due to an episodic or persistent psychiatric disease at the time of the criminal act.
So have the Republicans elected a president with a persistent psychiatric disease or did he deliberately collude with the Russians?
Due to the behavior of the republicans, it will likely take the 2018 elections to really begin the trumpy removal process. Too many traitors finding a willing dupe in trumpy. I’m sure they are all exhausted, as dealing with mentally ill people is tiring in the extreme. But with their exhaustion comes the exhilaration of the true believer finally overthrowing the black man and letting backwards ideology reign. Racism, misogyny, class strife, toxic religiousity, insensate policy choices, profound ignorance, persistent lying, refusal to consider facts in evidence, on and on and on the craziness goes. Literal craziness in the case of trumpy. Thousands of mental health professionals agree that trump exemplifies real (and really dangerous) mental illness.
The republicans will continue to deflect, deny, dissemble in support of their mentally ill leader. Their deplorable base will continue to pop and sputter in its own grease. The Russian trolls will keep getting paid to disrupt reasoned debate. The sleazy fake media like Breitbart will continue to promote fact free nonsense. The “religious” Christians will continue to show themselves as insufferable hypocrites. Science will continue to take a back seat to magical thinking.
