To apikoros: Based on your other post, so it’s not Fidel’s having been a dictator you don’t like, but rather his ideology? So are we to assume you’re perfectly fine with guys like Putin and Erdogan and Assad and Duterte and the rest of the thugs and murderers Trump has praised? And because you’re not able to argue the actual point being made by the cartoon, you attack the messenger? Signs of a weak argument, my friend.
To interventor: Apparently you don’t understand the nuances of statecraft. This isn’t about “willingness to meet.” It’s about openly admiring some of the world’s most brutal leaders precisely for being brutal. He’s not out there challenging them on their abuses of human rights and abuses. He’s effectively praising them for it. Say what you will about Reagan, but he was willing to criticize the USSR’s human rights violations even as he actively talked with Gorbachev. Trump has done no such thing, and there is no indication he ever will. His administration even went so far as to bury the annual Human Rights Report for the first time in decades. They’ve just renamed an NSC post from “special assistant to the president for multilateral affairs and human rights” to “special assistant for international organizations and alliances” (no human rights to be seen). And not a peep out of them about the rounding up of gay men in Chechnya into concentration camps where they’re being tortured and murdered.
TL;DR: You are defending a guy who not only doesn’t give a flying fig about human rights, but who praises human rights abusers for being the murderous authoritarian strongmen they are.
No matter how much spinning you try to do, the facts are still there to see, plain as day. So just admit it and be done.
Jong Un starves his people to build more weapons to threaten the US. Trump proposes cutting off health care to pregnant women to build more bombs to threaten North Korea. The leaders meet and get along just fine…

We have chased the white rabbit, had tea with the mad hatter, and now we just need to get our hands on that Vorpal Blade.

Do you think #45’s supporters really care if America’s international reputation is spiraling into the gutter!

Donnie called KJU a “smart cookie”. And the Trumpettes would still vote for him today. SAD.
