Look to see a cemetery. The hour is quite late

Brought a sledge hammer to break stones, ‘tis how she vents her hate.

When the dead molder underground they no longer can fight back

Anti-Semitism is her name. Reflection she does lack.

Hatred comes so easily when one’s character is low

If only they’d been more like her she wouldn’t strike this blow.

To desecrate a Jewish grave it makes her feel so large

The ruined headstones in her wake give her a nasty charge.

Such fun to sneer and flash her rear at those she hates to see

She drops her pants and does a dance and on a grave she pees.

Aryan is who she is. Claims there’s a Master Race

Dead of night or under hood, she tends to hide her face.

Because deep down she knows she’s wrong. There’s no supremacy

We’re all created equal. After that our will is free.

Apparently that diabolical anti-Semitic genius Big Margie found the Jewish cemetery even though it was named ST. JEROME’S! Will she next desecrate the Notre Dame Synagogue?

I also wondered about a Jewish Cemetery named “St. Jerome’s” – I wonder what Mike had in mind there.

Another question – is there any significance to the Sheriff wearing sun glasses indoors as he talks with Tracy and Sam? That seems odd.

Dunno how “Saint” got in there. When I gave Mike the name for the cemetery, it was “Mount Jerome”… (headscratches)

I think what Mike wanted to convey is that he’s capable of making mistakes just like us. LOL!

    St. Jerome’s Jewish Cemetery?

St. Jerome translated the Bible into Latin for the Catholic Church.

A photo of the people who did it? Yeah, that may prove valuable.

I bet someone saw Mt. Jerome in the script, thought it was a typo, and “corrected” it, so we shouldn’t blame Mike.

The cemetery should have been called Wildwood.

And the sheriff with the sunglasses on reminded me of the sheriffs in Reno 911.

Sheriff’s been spending too much time sampling the contents of the property room. dilated eyes are a dead giveaway.

The recent spate of anti-Semitic desecration hasn’t gone unnoticed by Team Tracy. Last fall we saw the intolerant Representative Bellowthon attempt to introduce her xenophobic bill banning Lunarians. We now see that Big Margie is not a garden variety thief. She is wrong in more ways than one. Those intolerant of the “other” lash out at those different from themselves in numerous ways, some bloody. This is an unexpected pivot from the cosUcon robbery. Still, it’s not uncommon for criminals to be involved in multiple forms of law-breaking. The photo will come in handy moving forward. Mounted cameras are abundant downtown Chicago. Very Gouldian to show equipment that helps Tracy gather clues. The timely rerun of a Sgt. Jim Doherty Crimestoppers Textbook entry is appreciated.

Thanks to Night-Gaunt49, 22ph, Neil Wick, ave09, Chris Sherlock, Bob Oscar, Ray Toler and JPuzzleWhiz for the kind words. Very much appreciated!

Glad I wasn’t the only one to raise an eyebrow over a Jewish cemetery named after a Catholic saint. I’m sure the writer means well with this storyline, but so good intentions, especially when it comes to sensitive topics like hate crimes & anti-semitism, aren’t enough. On the other hand, I thought the artwork was really good today.

By now, I am relieved that the obvious gaffe of a Jewish cemetery being named “St Jerome’s” is not bothersome to me alone. I like the proffered solution that it was supposed to be “Mt. Jerome’s” but am unclear about Triple M’s remark that he “gave Mike the name for the cemetery.” It should not be difficult to find a believable name for a Jewish cemetery!

And as for county sheriffs vs. Tracyville police, if the model is Chicago, the answer is, “it’s complicated”; Chicago occupies by far the largest chunk of Cook County (some cannot help but think of it as “Crook County”). Chicago has a large municipal police force, wracked with internal issues, including a superintendency that becomes politicized and frequently ends in dismissal of the superintendent for some perceived failure or offense. The sheriff of Cook County generally stays outside of Chicago’s routine policing, but is in charge of the big and unruly jail; BTW, the current incumbent, Tom Dart, is as citified and as earnestly liberal as can be, nothing at all like the image of a sunglasses-wearing Country Boy. There are also overlapping police entities, including the Forest Preserve Police (think of green belt around much of the city’s perimeter), the Illinois State Police, who have jurisdiction over the state-run expressways and tollways through and around Chicago, and too-numerous to count semi-public or private bodies with their own police and/or security staffs (such as hospitals, the school system, etc.). And then, of course, every suburb has its own police force as well, some big, some small, some good, some utterly corrupt….

PQ, I gave you a thumbs up this morning about your fine poem. Apparently, someone got offended to see my name and had it flagged and deleted. I didn’t realize I was such an irritant.

I know it’s a stretch, but maybe the name of the cemetery is a reference to the late Jerome ‘Jerry’ Siegel, co-creator of “Superman”.
