Colors are weird. Red is on the opposite side of the spectrum from purple, but mix it with blue, a color between it and purple, and you get purple. You would expect something between them.
Almost reminds me of a “Calvin and Hobbes” mini story arc about how Hobbes has his own adjectives for smells. Fire: snorky and brambish. Wet leaves: snippid. Calvin: terrible.
Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon where stimulation of sense will cause stimulation of another sense. Some people do see certain sounds as colors.
Unicorns apparently are less gifted than people with synesthesia. Some see music in colors and they say that what they see is quite beautiful. Poor Unicorn.
