    Howdy Vagabonds

Looks like a good day to go driving which we are going to do in around a couple hours. We’re headed to the younger nephew’s place down in NH, it’s a little over a hundred miles one way.

On the subject of travel, you made it to Salt Lake OK Rita?

Tomorrow is fifth Sunday potluck dinner at Church, always a good feed.

OK, y’all keep outta trouble, hear. ;-)

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

Yes, Mark, we made it in to SLC late last night. Traffic from mid-Utah was quite heavy. Very unusual. But, we’re safe! Jack’s cough is getting worse. He caught whatever the kidlets have and it always turns into bronchitis. Bummer! Well, we will be home tonight. Neither of us wants to detour through Yellowstone.

We left the beautiful desert, started the climb north, and we were snowed upon. WooHoo! Winter’s not over yet. We should have cool weather, but dry the rest of the way home.

    Happy Trails, my friends.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

I just went back and read what I wrote yesterday. Big typo, LOL. I said it was going to get up to about 10 degrees when I thought I had typed 70. Talk about a yo-yo! Today should be about 75 and then we head back into the 80’s tomorrow. The wind has died down somewhat, but not completely.

We did not take the RV to the dealer for final repairs yesterday because the wind was blowing too hard. I’ve driven the RV in that kind of wind before and it is downright scary. When the weather service gives warnings for “slab sided vehicles” they mean me.

More sorting and packing today. So everyone have a blessed day.

    Morning, Village!

    .

What a mess in Van Zandt County, Texas, where we used to live. Houses destroyed, 5 people dead. Some of our FaceBook friends were posting how they were hunkering down in a shelter and could hear the storm outside. Arkansas and Missouri got hit hard too. Be sure to pray for these folks.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Not much happening here today. Church in a couple of hours and then more sorting and packing. The house is starting to look a little bleak. We are looking at trying to finish up and move into the RV by the end of May. Wish us luck!

Rita, I hope you and Jack made it safely home and that Jack is feeling a bit better. It can be nasty to be sick while on the road!

Today is supposed to get up around 80 again. A nice day to keep the windows & doors open for fresh air.

    Everyone have a blessed Sunday.

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

We got in about 7:30 last night after a long and beautiful drive. Everything is so green and fresh! We only saw the one patch of desert flowers and that was 2 weeks ago on our southbound journey. The desert was fresh with lots of yellow on the shrubs and these lovely wild flowers. There were still some poppies in the Palmdale area of our older daughter’s house. I love the desert flowers. Talk about the Lilies in the Field! We still encountered lots of wind, but not as bad as 2 weeks ago.

I now have Jack’s cough. We’re a great twosome…..sharing everything! :)) As for our Vagabond Family……Arthur, give an extra big hug for your wife’s birthday! How lucky to be able to enjoy this wonderful life we’ve been given! And, Jan, what a terrific adventure you folks will be beginning. Where will your first trip be to? And, Mark…..home made mac & cheese is one of my favorites! Mmmmmm…. our 2 1/2 yr old grand daughter calls that “new news”. David…….what devastation! We will add those people to our prayers.

Time to make some breakfast and get the day started.

    Happy Trails, Everyone

    Good afternoon Vagabonds.

What a weekend!! The rain has hit in waves from Friday until noon today. As we went to church this morning the water was still about a foot away front the bridge and 3 hours later it was hitting the underside and still rising. My daughter had a Girl Scout training session near Springfield yesterday and her ex-MIL insisted she spend the night at her home. So happy they have a friendly relationship. On her way home they got stuck 30 miles from home when they closed I-44. Fortunately she was able to get off the interstate and use back roads to get home.

We live 2 miles north of I-44, at the northern edge of all that rain. One of my Sunday school lady’s said her rain Guage registered 8 inches over the weekend. The local weather girl said we broke into the top 5 for wettest April.

Been a long time since I rambled on so much :) Everyone stay safe and dry!!

This morning when I entered the church the first service was singing “Holy Spirit , Rain Down.” It felt very appropriate :))
