Unfortunately, the neighborhood isn’t nearly so pleased.

Martin will always have sunshine. All he has to do is take his device and stick it where the sun don’t shine.

I hope Martin isn’t being an egomaniac about this, and has designated a significant number of other neighborhood bright spots as well. As long as he’s done that, I think I’m okay with it.

I dunno… the way things are going, I’ll take all the bright spots I can get!

Some say his brightness is spotty.

The junior division is held by Martin’s nephew Raymond.

Martin calls him Little Ray of Sunshine.

I think Martin’s got a screw loose somewhere.

I could use a few more bright spots these days.

Martin got this idea from his wife, who is known around the neighborhood as Little Mary Sunshine.

Personally, as a practicing curmudgeon, I find all this cheeriness a bit disturbing.

No offense, Martin, but I’d rather look at Jupiter’s dark spot…

Yes, it can be a bit disturbing…….as are so many things on Ballard Street.

Aww Monkey…. And you are the bestest monkey ever.

And I don’t just say that cos you are my pal and my best monkey friend …

Well, yeah, I guess I do. But that’s ok, right?
