At the very least, the NRA is an enabler.

Over 70% of NRA membership — not the leadership — approve of closing loopholes in the gun control laws, approve increased gun control, approve restricting access to people suspected of terrorism. Period.- 72% of NRA members and 83% of gun owners approve of criminal background checks- 79% of gun owners and 64% of NRA members want Congress to take actionWhat we are seeing here is that the leadership of the NRA is in the pocket of the gun manufacturers — as simple as that. And so are the pro-gun Congresspeople. The argument about the Second Amendment is an idiotic one. If we can have reasonable restrictions on the FIRST Amendment, we can have them on the Second. There are over 200 years of precedents on this, and one (1) exception from the conservative judicial activists (led by Scalia) on the Supreme Court.https://www.americanprogress.org/press/release/2015/11/17/125618/release-gun-owners-overwhelmingly-support-background-checks-see-nra-as-out-of-touch-new-poll-finds/

Red herrings. No one has said mass shootings are committed by NRA members. What is true is that the NRA enables mass shooters.

When we treat the FIRST Amendment with the same respect we treat the Second, then I’ll be a bit more comfortable with this nation. And we should treat the First with MORE respect.

Re : “The NRA has NOTHING to do with terrorism.”

I don’t know .. they certainly actively terrorize any Congressperson who has the audacity to want to pass reasonable controls on the ownership and use of deadly devices.
