    Morning, Village!

    .

GoComics can pat themselves on the back all they want, but the format over at AZCentral and the other Comics Kingdom sites is 100 times more convenient to the user!

    Howdy Vagabonds

    .

A little below zero this morning, unfortunately we ran out of oil for the furnace, 49 in the kitchen.

Thankfully we have the old cook stove in the kitchen that runs on wood. If you live in the northern climes it is wise to have a wood stove of some kind.

I’ll not worry as the wise man has said, This too shall pass.

    .

David, I’ll check out those other sites, and give you one other, Comics ArcaMax. (arcamax.com/comics) It dose not have as many comics as GoComics but they have some that aren’t found here.

    .

    OK, catch y’all later.

    Good morning Vagabond Villagers…

@ david – I agree that there is a loss of convenience to the user. Having to click to get the comments every time I refresh or move to a different strip is a bit of a pain (among other things).

@ dkram, I was going to type in the current temp here in So. Fla., but after reading that it’s 49 degrees in your kitchen, I think I’ll just keep quiet. Stay warm!

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

We’re having a gorgeous morning. It’s all the way up to 1.8 right now, and sunny. WooHoo!

All the years we’ve lived up here, there was only one power failure that lasted for a long time. But, we had our wood stove going for heat, so it was easy to put on a cast iron skillet and scramble some eggs. Not bad. It’s been 3 years that we’ve had our new, larger wood stove. It heats the entire upstairs living area, and there is an auxiliary gas burning log stove downstairs in the theatre. We pretty much “live” on the main level, and it does get down to 58 or 60 during these cold nights, but I don’t find that uncomfortable. The only bad thing is we can’t sleep with a window open like Jan likes. It’ll be a long time before we can do that.

    Have a great day, Everyone!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Rita, it’s only an inch! and only one window.

Mark, stay warm. I hope they can come fill your oil tank today instead of having to wait until Monday!

Today is our first Ladies to Ladies meeting for 2017. We will be “debriefing” December’s tea and start the planning for the next one. One of the ladies has an idea involving floppy hats. It should be interesting.

Good news! Our Tuesday card group will start up again in February. Since our hostess passed away in November, we haven’t had a place to meet or, frankly, the heart to do so. Now most of us are really missing the fellowship and one of the ladies has volunteered to have it at her house. We have all the cards and equipment needed all ready to go. (I even bought a new card shuffler.)

The temp is around 50 right now with an expected high of 57. About average for this time of year here.

    Everyone have a blessed day.

    Morning, Village!

    .

We’re going to a different church today to hear a guest speaker, Don Piper. He’s the author of 90 Minutes In Heaven.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

I miss Arye. I hope he figures out how to access the comments and joins us soon.

Off to church soon. We’re studying the book of Acts and my pastor can really make it interesting and relevant.

It’s about 45 outside heading up to 55. It’s been drizzling off and on for a couple of days, mostly off. It rained at church yesterday and was dry at home, and heading the other direction, it rained hard at our card game Friday evening and was dry at home. Michael says we have a “bubble” around our house – or maybe it’s the soccer fields that have the bubble. There was quite a bit of activity over there yesterday.

Yay! Florchi was right. No more symbols needed to double space. Just hit return twice. It worked!

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

Nothing new up here. I just did a time lapse of the sunrise. Weren’t enough clouds to make it spectacular. It was hard to get the iPad to my “perch” because I had to walk through a patch of icy snow to get there.

Time to make a batch of spaghetti sauce. I found that if I use a soup bone the flavor really intensifies. Also, all those garden herbs I froze at the end of summer (in olive oil) worked very well. Dinner will be around 6:30. Y’all come!

Rita that spaghetti sauce sounds really good.

Still cold, wet and miserable here. 34 degrees, foggy, and nonstop drizzle.

Only 6 of us this morning for Sunday School, we had a lively discussion about our lesson, which was from Jeremiah. I like that we all have so much life experience that we can share with each other. A lot of the congregation was absent today because of the weather. Glad it is predicted to be warmer next Sunday .

    .

    Have a great day vagabonds.
