It is a dilemma. After number 1, do you put the seat down in case the next person is a woman, or do you leave it up to show that you didn’t wet the seat?
Though, men, I recommend a little toilet target practice. I’ve never seen puddles around women’s toilets but frequently do in the couple of unisex bathrooms I use.
I grew up in a house where the number of boys was even to the number of girls. Mom’s rule was that upon concluding one’s bathroom business, the seat was put down and the lid was closed as well. This required everyone to lift up something and everyone to put something down. Also, we had parakeets and Mom did not want them to accidentally fall into the toilet.
Let everyone make adjustments to suit themselves, as they do in every other instance of anything adjustable. There is no reason for toilets to be a special case. You’re going to wash your hands anyway (or if not, the seat position is the least of your worries).

Who would leave a toilet seat half-way up/down?

Always leave the seat up. Be courteous to the next person.

A gentleman, plugger or not, should always leave it down. Just in case a lady is next to use the facility..

I was fussed at for leaving the seat up, so I started putting it down…the lid also. I got fussed at for that. Goes to show I just can’t win.

If I find the seat up I use it in that manner and leave it in that manner.
If I find the seat down, I use it in that manner and leave it in that position with a few extra drops of heavenly care…
If I need to do big things, then I hold on till I get home…

A lot of discussion on this subject and a big undecided dilemma. Maybe just wear Depends when you go shopping.

Put the seat and the lid down before flushing.
Or Google “toilet plume video”. Then you’ll never forget to.

We always close both the seat and the lid to keep the pets from drinking the water. It works out.

Now when does a male Plugger even think about that?

There;s germs in there? OMG, I’m not “going” anymore!
reminds me of my mom, who when she was a brat kid, told the younger ones “they had garments on their back” and got them hysterical.
