Handouts by local citizens and churches will cover the problem, certainly.

Is Danzinger kidding? Trump is giving handouts already. Just ask the fine folks at Carrier.

like the previous election, that is in the woman’s hands

If she feeds them, they will be fed.

If she decides not to, they will have to seek sustenance elsewhere.

If women had all voted for Hillary, there aren’t enough men to outvote them.

    ahab said,

    @DavidHuieGreen

“Ah yes, poor Daggy didn’t notice that the top income recipients are getting richer and can afford higher taxes.”

    .

    I doubt that was missed.

Most likely the point was related to concepts of fairness and equality under the law.

    .

Many believe others should be treated alike and that since government functions benefit all equally (in theory, anyway) we should all pay in proportional to our numbers or in proportion to our wealth (or lack thereof).

    .

In practice there is little correlation. The poorest receive the most governmental service; the richest receive the most personal favors.

    .

Folks in the middle don’t donate enough to earn favors nor need enough to justify aid. They feel they are simply taken for granted, just as there were states Hillary didn’t bother to visit because she figured they HAD to vote for her or weren’t important even if they didn’t.

    .

I have no idea what would really be fair or what would be unfair so the best action would be to do what did the most good for the most people without killing anyone or turning them into perpetual dependants. I am reminded of the time some tax exemption related to yachts was revoked under the thought it only benefitted the rich. Instead, thousands in the middle lost jobs as yacht-building stopped or left the country.

    .

    Unintended consequences should be avoided.
