Gee, I don’t have a PUNchline for a river hiccup today.
She turned me into a newt. (Sir Bedevere, call your office)
If the woman floated, they assumed that the water rejected her for her evil, so that they would pull her out, hang her and/or burn her. If she sank, that proved she was innocent. Sinking also drowned her. Talk about a no-win situation!
A real witch can breath under water… so if she drowns, she’s not a witch.

We’’ll tackle the situation as soon as they reel in the probable cause..
A portable dunking chair?
