JM recycling how he misses the point? Common themes: Firearms & mental health. One is a tool spotlighted by the sensationalistic infotainment media, the other is ignored. One is also a tool used far more often in preservation of life & home security than in tragedies. Of course for some reason those stories aren’t trumpeted nationally & internationally- they’re lucky if they make it beyond local news.
People are very bad at assessing risk. You are more likely to be killed or injured driving to work than being attacked by a Muslim extreamist. So what do people do, they text while driving and go crazy about the thought of a Muslim being allowed to immigrate after two years of intensive vetting. It makes you really wonder how the human race made it this far.
“From 2013 though Nov. 17, the U.N. says it has referred 22,427 Syrian refugees to the U.S. for “resettlement consideration.” “The last 100,000”? Get real.
No co nnection? Where do you think the terrorists get their power? Nazi Revolutionary Army lobbying and their gun maker puppet-masters don’t even care which side the terrorists are on, Daesh or Bunday, the money and anti-Americanism are the same whichever and that is all they care about..
Does anyone here remember that the final straw that made this country come into existence was when the legal government sent troops to Concord with orders to seize any and all firearms in private hands?
Who let the Europeans, with their captive Africans, in? North Americans (at least those west of the Mississippi) even had a common language, which covered about as many linguistic stocks as a Japanese conversing with a Gaul.

We’re always terrified about what we can’t control over what we think we do control.

Thank you, John Locke and Bruce4671 for thoughtful posts.
The points I received from your posts :
• When ISIS reaches our shores and begins beheading people we should use our laws to stop them.
• We should screen terrorists from the inflow of immigrants.
• God is in charge and He does not need us to carry out His Plan.
• Leaders or followers of any religion who claim authority from God are the true terrorists.
• The Golden Rule, regardless of who claims authorship.

Good toon … Morin is pointing out that average person has difficulty in assessing risks!
