We have a 7 year old grandson who has milk, dairy, nut, peanut, and coconut allergies. He recognizes what he can have and trades the rest (especially chocolate) to his brother and sister. He never “cheats” because allergens burn his mouth – yogurt once splashed on his arm and left a welt.
If I had that allergy I wouldn’t even bother going out on Halloween. You can’t control what people are going to give you. Granted many have more than one option to pick from.
