the wildfire might be the perfect distraction for Brad and Toni so TJ can probably single-handedly do all the remolding

By TJ saying “With you helping” he assured that Brad would not be able to help. It’s the “I’ll be right there” syndrome.

Brad, forced to chop down trees to make a fire break in the forest, accidentally cuts off his right leg, with a chainsaw, he then spends the next few weeks looking for a prosthetic leg, so he can make the wedding. Unfortunately, the only one in his size, is one of those old fashioned wooden “peg legs”; in a flash, TJ changes the wedding to a PIRATE theme, hilarity ensues!!

Brad is cut off from the rest of the fire crew, he finds himself surrounded by flames, it seems he is about the die; in the knick of time, he spots a large cave deep in the woods, it’s stone and fully fire proof, he ducks in, hoping there’s no bears inside, phew, safe. What he didn’t realise is that the cave DOES have an owner, a 60-something mountain woman, what “Aint seen a man, in nigh an’ Twenny year!” Will Toni find him in time, or will Brad already be taken? Hilarity ensues!!

If how the fire begins becomes an arc we might find Brad using his skills for minutiae in learning how to become a fire investigator.

Should a band of squaters turn out to be the accidental cause, and Piro among them, then Bernice might discover an interest in the study of law.

A “WILDFIRE” near Pitts?!?! Oh, oh. Not a good sign. This reads like a lot of classic (tragic) literature where there will be in this case, one or both of our pre-nuptual couple being either a) at grave risk, b) hurt, maimed, or c) even worse.

    .

Here is hoping for NO melodrama (raising coffee cup up to the monitor as if a toast)….. but I doubt it at this point. I shall simply sit back, and ruminate with my pipe while waiting further developments.

“it takes a very special type of bravery to chose to be a firefighter who fights them”

    .

    Not too special.

I’ve fought a few myself, put them out. Usually Forestry comes in with a caterpillar tractor with turning plow, plows out a fire lane. we can could easily put out whatever fires skipped the lane.

    .

My nephew was in the West Virginia National Guard and went out west every sumer to fight them. He liked the fact that he could stop many of them with a leafe blower on his back, blow out fires on the edge, blow burning material back into the burned area where it would die out for lack of fuel.

    .

Then they sent him off to Iraq and he decided o get out after his first tour of duty there. Didn’t mind anything but being away from his wife, Regina.

Volunteer fire departments are infamous for getting to a structure fire after it is too late to save it. Someone once asked my brother-in-law, Bobby Chancery, if he had EVER saved a home from fire. He answered,

“Hundreds. I put out the woods fires before they got to the people’s homes”

This is an important fork in the narrative: do we go serious, or do we go for humor? I strongly suspect that this will be more serious than tasting quiche or debating music. This is like, “Cry havoc, and let loose the dogs of war”. Brad may be in the most dangerous battle of his life with this wildfire.
