    Maybe if either major party put a palatable choice out there, people would be inclined to vote for them. Third party choices won’t win probably, but I’m tired of people whining about people not voting red or blue wasting there votes. Especially if they can only tell me why I shouldn’t vote for the other guy.

    We are in this mess for two reasons. The Democrat nomination process was rigged. The Republican nomination was not.

    The main argument for instant runoff voting, list your choices in order of preference. In counting, the lowest total is discarded and their alternatives are distributed in order to those candidates until one gets a majority. It is 50 years old in Australia and 30 in Ireland. It does work and with computers, almost instantly. Of course, that is also why many leaders of the “ruling party with two names” oppose it. You end up with the candidate a majority “can live with” instead of one the majority doesn’t want.
