i cannot recall what Jeremy does professionally. But I’ll hazard a guess that whatever it is, it’s obscure, rare, valuable, and he is some sort of analog to an idiot savant at it.

Tired old cliches? I think the actual term is “mixed metaphors” isn’t it? Or in this case, tired old mixed metaphors. As for Jeremy, I wonder if he’s a cousin to the character Milton Waddams in the movie, Office Space? Wouldn’t you like to watch those two at lunch?

He’s not rich, he’s quite broke. Lacey ended up leaving him some money. I assume he has some kind of trust fund doled out month to month and he’s always broke by day four.

Despite his social awkwardness, it’s hard not to like Jeremy. He is totally without guile.
