Perhaps it was not a chemistry class. It might have been a class involving language use and so we might have had vile phrase A and vile phrase B.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to remember the studants of Skool, who died valiantly in antbitious pursuit of knowledge. Their last lesson was a vital one, where they made the mistake of combining two vile substances.

That reminds me of what happened in my Chemistry Lab, a long time ago… A friend who’s experiment was taking far too long decide to dump about 30 or 40 ml into his experiment, instead of using an eye dropper, it put holes in the ceiling tiles, his shirt and made a big mess. Best part he was a fireman who worked with Chemical fires and had to take the class because of work. College was fun sometimes…

Many years ago, the Mr. Wizards of the chemistry class at my parochial school conducted an “experiment” that resulted in the release of mass quantities of chlorine gas into the school. After the evacuation, cleanup, and screaming were over, the boys said they previously did the same thing at home, but figured the results would be different if they did it in a “real” lab.I still have this nagging cough…

Let’s hope the vile results of vile A and vile B caused no violent or virulent results. Clearly, the typo (was it one?) went viral here among the readers of the strip. Perhaps it is vital to the viablility of any strip to occasionally gauge the vitality of the fan base, their virulency, their “vital juices” and how vitriolic they can become, or vituperative. venal, or just plain vexing.

Just to add another few memories… In my seventh grade chemistry class, we made a still. Everyone got to taste a drop as it came out. In another class, elemental mercury was spilled on the floor, and we chased the little liquid balls around to gather it back up.School was occasionally fun back then.
