If you place a cup, glass, vase, or, indeed, any breakable object less than six inches from the edge of the table, bench, or counter, said object will shuffle to the edge and fling itself into the abyss. It’s a law of nature.

    Right, Lupin?

“Set up for Failure” <3 I had to give up on plants. It wasn’t the mounds of dirt I had to vacuum off the carpet left over from where Bamboo had dug them out, it was all the empty bottles of Ranch dressing he would leave strewn about the debris that finally got me.

I guess I am extremely fortunate that Yum Yum shows no interest in my plants or my breakables, especially at this time of the year when I have my Christmas trinkets out.

That being said, with respect to the comments on yesterday’s strip, Yum Yum allows my great-granddaughter NO liberties with her person. Indeed, when she sees her coming, Yum Yum retreats to the bedroom, to the top of the tallest bookcase, and hides behind the board games.

I wish I could have plants again, but sadly this strip is oh so true. My boys destroy any plant that comes in the apartment within hours. I also don’t dare put out any holiday items for fear of the same treatment. I love them, and they’re sweet kitties otherwise, so I just live with it and enjoy them anyway.

Lupin and my dear sweet O’Malley are twins. Anything on a table to fair game to get knocked on the floor. Then ignored. The ignoring part is crucial to the entire process.

Anybody who knows cats would know that Gloria Dunn also has cats. Very accurate portrayal.
