In all fairness, the Middle East has been a mess since I can remember. I don’t think any one person created that mess nor do I see any way it will end in my lifetime. Anybody ever check out why the Sunnis and Shiites hate each other and have been killing each other for centuries? I looked it up and suggest if you’re reading this you do the same.
We have no idea what our foreign policy would be without the contribution of the GOP in both houses and the high court. I submit that neither Obama nor Clinton is likely to be baited into armed confrontation by some guy on Twitter, however.
How nice that Stantis speaks for President Obama and former Sec. of State Clinton about the Syrian tragedy. Or is he auditioning for Trump/Breitbart News?
all you barry apologists might want to check his rhetoric over the last few years. “we’ve got them on the run” unfortunately some in the pentagon don’t follow the party line, wondering why the intelligence they provided was whitewashed or ignored.
We never should have gone into Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya(where Reagan tried to kill Gadaffi first, but only killed his daughter- about that Syrian kid.)
Tom: I enlisted because ’Nam was a domino, and they were coming to get us! Well, we LOST THAT ONE, but now, like China, Viet Nam is a major trading partner, making our shoes, clothes, and parts for our military and civilian helicopters as subcontractors to Boeing, and others.
Maybe the thing to do IS to wait until these countries actually come to us fo help? Oh, wait, South Viet Nam only had our corrupt politicians asking us for help. In Syria, over 50 competing “militias” are fighting, for and against Assad, who is indeed bad, but isn’t it time we stopped overthrowing governments, as it never seems to turn out well. Right, Afghanistan, Iraq, those squabbles only lasted six days as Cheney and Bush promised, right????

Diplomacy is “doing nothing.” It doesn’t count unless stuff explodes, eh?
