The unaffiliated voters outnumber the Republicans and Democrats, but can’t vote in many states. Wonder what would have happened if we had a representative democratic republic instead of a 2 party oligarchy?
“It is an outrage that Florida independents are excluded from the political conversation at a time when there is so much turmoil in our country. Voters are becoming independent because both parties are unstable and ineffective at translating the dreams and aspirations of the American people into reality. We need new ways for people to come together that are not based on political parties. That’s what independents, and many Democrats and Republicans, want to see happen in Florida and across the country. -John Opdycke, President of Open Primaries
“Nearly a third of Oregon voters — 32.3 percent of the state’s 2.2 million voters — are either unaffiliated or registered in a third party. And their number is growing as a result of a new automatic voter registration law”http://www.opb.org/news/article/oregon-voters-presidential-primary-excluded/http://usuncut.com/politics/california-primary-independents/Unaffiliated Voters Outnumber Party Voters — So Why Can’t They Vote?
Haven’t liked Debbie’s “leadership” at DNC for some time, too much like Rancid Pubus and “the Donald”, making too many decisions that ignore much of the thinking in the party.
Which, Republicans meet at the Quicken Loans Center, and Democrats at the Wells Fargo Center, so indeed, where IS the party not owing too much to Wall Street and the financial “market” folks??
At least the Democrats aren’t calling for disposing of trillions of dollars worth of long term income off the land the taxpayers OWN, for a short-term loss at “land office prices” (the very definition of free or below market prices on resources and lands) to sell us out to their corporate sponsors.
All if this is nonsense. I voted for Bernie, but he didn’t lose because of an email or the debate schedule. He knows that and will do whatever it takes to keep trump from being an existential threat to America.
The system is broken all the way around. If you want to run for president you need way more money than any decent human being that would be good for the country could garner. To have the kind of backing to get elected to the highest office in the land you need sell your integrity to the highest bidder which is something that the person that we really need to sit in the white house is going to be unwilling to do. I find it interesting that people will willingly follow whomever panders to their pet desires and wants rather than consider doing what is in the best interest of the country as a whole. Many young people today that grew up in the news bite/ sound bite culture are clueless to how the system actually works why America as an idea should be the highest aspiration for a nation because they quit teaching civics and real history in schools years ago.

Oh grow up. They hardly ensured Hillary’s victory and Bernie lost fair and square.

Bernie certainly would have helped his own cause if he joined the party a few years earlier.

Don’t forget she got the popular vote along with the delegate vote. Not that facts matter when it comes to smearing Clinton.
