I’m still working on my updates, but I will say this. With Tracy and Kadaver face to face for the first time in this story, this is the beginning of a climactic sequence. The game is really afoot, now!

Gweedo knowingly told AnyFace,Looks like a farm boy to me. He will yodel out the winner !-————————————————————————-.Very funny, Gweedo! I can’t stop laughing at the thought of that happening!.Good morning Gweedo.

Night-Gaunt49 emphatically stated,That bearded guy looked too old to be a “boy” and is likely to be the farm owner himself.-———————————————————————-.I merely used the designation that was offered by the well known world traveler known in these parts as Gweedo knowledgeably provided.

Gweedo indicated,Well, Bill, events like this need fanfare and will take what they can get !-——————————————————————.Does this mean that you will be playing your kazoo, Gweedo? We also need a chorus of whistlers in order to make this a class event!

Gweedo also stated,No laughing, Bill. A most solemn occasion is taking place today (but we wont see what it is until at least mid week.-———————————————————————.I’m very curious, Gweedo!.Are you getting married? Going to Wal-Mart? McDonald’s for dinner? I can’t wait until you reveal the solemn occasion to we underlings!

Ah, well…..our hero won’t die, of course, but could this be the end of the popular antagonist?

And so it begins: Final Conflict! In this corner, in yellow garb, wearing the yellow fedora, Chief of Detectives of Tracyville, Dick Tracy! And in this corner, in the black greatcoat and black tophat, the challenger in this re-match, with a Face That Only a Mother [or Rikki Mortis] Could Love, Abner Kadaver! The spirits of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Moriarty loom over all at the falls, while hostage Tess is nowhere to be seen: that being so, can this be a fair match? Will the Happy Wanderer of panel 3 be a fair and impartial referee?

I suspect the Happy Wanderer may be related to the Verners.

I don’t think Abner picked the best venue. Plus Dick’s inspection climb says he’s ready for his ‘trick for a trick’ surprise.

Tracy is part of a rich history of detectives. I’ve enjoyed the sojourn to Iceland, England, France and Switzerland. Yesterday, Tracy awoke to see himself through a glass darkly. Great panel. The pieces are now in place. The tension mounts. Will Rikki be on the loose, in a cell or in the ground when Abner meets his fate? Watch your step, Tracy.

Thanks to Willy007, Gweedo, Vista Bill, Neil Wick, Night-Gaunt49, Chris Sherlock, JPuzzleWhiz and Ray Toler for the kind words. Very much appreciated!

Is Abner an admirer of Professor Moriarty’s? This comic would obviously seem to suggest that Moriarty is a hero of is. Also, I hope Rikki emerges from this battle okay.

The plaque commemorating Holmes’ death cracks me up. Didn’t both Holmes and Moriarty die in their final struggle? So I suppose they “vanquished” each other.

Remember, Sherlock and Moriarity both met their demise in that story. Sherlock was “revived” later. Does the same thing happen to our hero?
