“The reason Milton wrote in fetters when he wrote of Angels and God, and at liberty when of Devils and Hell, is because he was a true poet and of the Devils’ party without knowing it.”—William Blake
Trump lies only half the time, then immediately tells the truth (or vice versa). Hillary lies all the time. The press treats Trump’s statements as all lies and Hillary’s as all truth. This makes navigating the ship of state a very iffy business.
Blake said that Milton’s writing was dull when he wrote about God and Jesus, but exciting when he wrote about Satan. Satan may have been in fetters at the end of the poem, but Milton was free when he wrote about Satan. Blake also claimed that all true poets are on the devil’s side, and that Milton was on the devil’s side, even though he was consciously on God’s side. You mentioned that Satan was in chains at the end of the poem, but that is not relevant to Blake’s argument.. According to Blake, Milton claimed that he was justifying God’s ways to man, but he was really glorifying the devil and rebellion against God. Satan’s defeat at the end of the poem is no evidence against Blake’s position. If you want to say that Blake was wrong, have at it, but I would argue that neither you, nor i, nor Blake really knew what was in the heart of John Milton. I enjoy Blake’s take on the poem but I’m not really convinced.

If Trump and Carson have God on their side, I’m signing up with Lucifer.

Typical Rhino – will elect Hillary because Trump is not one of them – the political upper class.

Yes, and Macbeth and Hamlet were both dead at the end of their plays, but they were the most compelling characters.

OK, so it’s not lying if you don’t know what you’re talking about. What is it if you don’t CARE?

In all the religion back and forth and wars, suspect we’ve lost track of which one is God, and which is Satan!
