Ironically, fundamentalist christians sometimes use the survival of the Jews as an argument to bolster their idiosyncratic interpretation of certain new testament passages purportedly relating to the “end times.” The irony, of course, is lost on them.
That’s because they take their holy book literally. Except, you know, when it would be personally inconvenient, cost them money, force them to think, or lead away from their cherished right-wing political principles…
