I get the feeling, Rudy’s descendants never wanted to be born.

How did our descendants get here if we weren’t around to have any descendants until they made the simulation? Elon Musk apparently doesn’t think things through. He should stick to rockets and dangerous self-driving cars.

“Most people surnamed “Cohen” wouldn’t feel that way.”.And why not? How many miracles have the Jews recorded since the time of Christ?.Or are you referring to the Cohens of Ireland, many of whom are Catholic priests and therefore believe that every Catholic “saint” has performed some sort of miracle to achieve that status?

In the last panel, why did Randy repeat what Sadie said, just using a slightly different phrasing?Hume and Ingersoll provide interesting reading on miracles; but John Updike put it most succinctly, “Miracles are bunk.”

Ironically, fundamentalist christians sometimes use the survival of the Jews as an argument to bolster their idiosyncratic interpretation of certain new testament passages purportedly relating to the “end times.” The irony, of course, is lost on them.

Read “Stones of Significance” by David Brin, a very good novel with this theme.

That’s because they take their holy book literally. Except, you know, when it would be personally inconvenient, cost them money, force them to think, or lead away from their cherished right-wing political principles…

The Sims is based upon the premise that buying them more stuff makes them happy.

I prefer “self-serving rationalization” to “hypnotizing,” but your point is nevertheless well taken.
