This cartoon is so mixed up that I had to look to see who did it just to figure out what side of the issue he was on. Ah, Chip Bok. So he hates Pelosi for no reason, has no idea what Rauf stands for, and has no idea of how sharia law works.
I understand. The point of the cartoon is that he’s an idiot who can draw.
So, Bruce, I read what the Rev Moon had to say about Imam Rauf, in the newspaper that is so marginally credible that they’ve stopped trying to get people to subscirbe to it and simply distribute it to Congressional offices.
It’s full of nonsense, unsupported claims and the usual Moonie distortions. Yes, we’ve supported refurbishing historic buildings overseas, including some that are mosques (and churches, but they don’t mention that). I realize you feel the way to get people on your side is to hold a gun to their head, but there are other ways. Get your load of crackpot chickenhawks back in office and you can try bombing people to earn their friendship.
Meanwhile, let’s just uphold and defend the Constitution. And, in the words of the (GOP) Prophet, “Why don’t ya quit lyin’?”
Where were all these satirists when the immigration laws were being manipulated to allow all these anti-western religionists into the country as party of a trade policy or war plan?
Bruce – not very convincing, I have to say. (An editorial in Moon’s newspaper? That’s the best evidence?) It certainly does not support the “six million tax dollars for mosques” claim. But thanks for the link.
The First Amendment provides the largest “tax break” in America, and thus does represent a “taxpayer contribution” to religions, of all stripes, because the services of the state are provided at no charge, as in water, sewer, and other infrastructure.

^GRDone, you’re arguing based on something that we think (quite reasonably) to be false. First establish the facts.

Again, an unfair and ignorant comment. Imam Rauf is a Sufi, and would not believe in Sharia law. Mr. Blok needs to do his research.

Taxpayer money has gone to churches of other denominations as well.

Bok, that is a complete missrepresentation of what Pelosi said.
Why is any taxpayer money given to churches? They now receive favorable tax treatment. Why direct aid also?
