I am so glad Texas got it’s A$$ handed to it on this issue. I really wish the Republican party would get past their need to control women and focus on improving the economics of this country which would, in turn, reduce the number of abortions as people who are doing OK are far less likely to want/need an abortion.
The creatures who want to outlaw abortion, including for medical reasons or in the case of a 12 year old victim of assault, are the same dumb @$$es who want to outlaw contraceptives and information on reproduction. They are just plain mean, vicious and cruel. And it amazes me that some of those creatures are women.

I can’t get a hangnail removed unless the doctor has admitting privileges. .~Makes sense if you are seeing a doctor that he should have admitting privileges. Does your dentist, podiatrist, acupuncturist, optometrist have admitting privileges?
These are the same people who think there should be no restrictions to buying fully automatic assault rifles. Imagine suggesting half the restrictions they try to place on abortion on gun purchase? Go home and ask your parents, wait 72 hours with anti-gun pamphlets, the owner must have a regulated shop and discuss with you the danger of guns, and the psychological problems that come with them. You’ll have to watch videos of people being shot, and travel many miles to the only gun shop in the county. Once you are there, everything is very expensive and they try to dissuade you (or face heavy fines)

You are concerned about bring the fetus to term regardless of the consequences on that fetus, the mother, the family, and the community. That perspective has it’s merit but it completely misses the point of the Supreme Court decision.
Roe v. Wade gave women the right to terminate a pregnancy. The Religious Republicans have been trying to erode that right for years and win some and lose some. This latest move by Texas was a wholesale elimination of that right by closing down the clinics that could provide that service.
You think there is no good reason for an abortion and I get that. But what you think isn’t (and shouldn’t be) important to the woman who is faced with this situation.
Apparently the legislators didn’t care if the woman was Raped, subjected to Incest etc. They just want to stop the procedure and it appears that they will stop at almost nothing to make that happen.

I don’t know why people have such a hard time with the name assault rifle, it is not like less people are dead because you call them selective fire weapons.
