I loved the panhandler I once encountered in NYC, who said he was: “taking up a collection, to buy an axe, to kill his mother-in-law with” !.
Right, because if I can’t make a living selling these things, I’m going to have to return to crime. Thus placing the burden of one more thug in the system …
And me returning to crime could just start when you refuse to buy one of my pencils.
