Crazy people who want a weapon on short notice can’t easily get banned weapons. So if the weapons meant for mass slaughter are banned, some lives will be saved. Many lives, probably. If you reject all solutions that aren’t PERFECT then you reject all solutions period.
Law abiding folks would still be able to get their hunting stuff and Collectables. I’m supposing those that speak the loudest against gun laws are those afraid they’d fail the background checks…
Your position on bun laws is unintelligent, emotional, and shows no foresight. You show every sign of being brainwashed by the liberal media. Every law that is passed will only have a hope of deterring law-abiding citizens from owning guns. The criminals and terrorists will always be able to get guns.
you keep saying we don’t want to do nothing on this gun issue. you are wrong. Every time we ask for changing the laws so people who are found to be mentally unstable or from a group of people that have a high risk assessment for violence and should be banned or detained the Left screams for their Rights.
Banning guns from legal, law-abiding citizens is not the answer. Bad guys will always be able to get weapons. If not guns, pressure cookers, knives, baseball bats, etc. How well has total gun control worked for France, England, Brussels, Boston Marathon, San Bernadino, etc.? No gun countries or no guns allowed areas?
a. I actually hunt with my ‘assault rifle’ 2 deer every year and so do a lot of other people. So much for “It’s not a hunting weapon”b. I can change a magazine every 3 seconds in my pistol, and I can do that for a long timec. from zero inches I can shoot something with my pistol, that distance is quite a bit further with a rifled. If you think guns are the problem then look in the mirror and you will see the problem
If those who think banning guns is not the answer should come up with some kind of suggestion on what to do. Any moron can be against something. It takes a little creativity to suggest something that will improve the situation. Clearly we should at least make sure background checks happen on all gun sales. Right now 40% don’t have any checks. It is kind of stupid to put people on a no fly list because we think they may be a threat and the let them walk in and buy what every armament they desire.
A congressman who needs to filibuster for fifteen hours just to force a vote on a no-brainer gun regulation after the most horrendous mass shooting in history is a congressman of a sick society.
There are way too many people on the “banned gun” escalator. The biggest massacres to ever happen on US soil were done by legally obtained guns. But they were not carried out by a well regulated militia.
Having a better background check system that is uniformly applied to all gun transfers would seem like something everyone should agree on. Everyone, except the NRA.https://www.nraila.org/articles/20140716/nevada-lawsuit-filed-against-anti-gun-ballot-initiativehttps://www.nraila.org/articles/20140210/new-hampshire-universal-background-check-bill-goes-to-house-floor-this-wednesdayLaws requiring guns in homes where minors are present to be properly secured would seem like something we should all agree on. And, we do. A few of you want to pretend the NRA doesn’t oppose such measures.https://www.nraila.org/articles/20130118/connecticut-weston-board-of-selectmen-postpones-gun-ban-shifts-focus-to-mandatory-storagehttps://www.nraila.org/articles/20160329/new-york-gun-control-bill-defeated-in-senate-committeeWe also need to change our culture. Too many people think guns are the ultimate personal dispute resolution tool.
Guns tend to help that, and it is harder to kill loads with a knife than with a gun – not just because you of the personal approach, where guns desensitizes you (which we also see in the pro-gun people).
Yes, Lin,Anthropomorphism is alive and well and living amongst the Democrats and other Progressives. I’m an Independent and I am licensed to carry a gun if I need t o use it for protection. My government doesn’t seem to want to do that.
Can anyone tell me why a sane person with with no criminal record or whose name in not on a government restrict list, cannot own a gun?Can anyone tell me how, without checking a person’s ID, we know that they have the right to own a gun?Can anyone tell me how we keep illegal weapons out of the hands of criminals? Can anyone tell me a foolproof method to prevent toddlers from accessing gun?Can anyone tell me a foolproof method to prevent potential suicide victims from accessing guns? Can anyone in specific terms (not an abstraction) tell me who or what you really need to use your gun to protect you/your family from?
“An AR-15 requires you to pull the trigger each time you want to fire, just like handguns.”there are bump-stocks for cheap which turns ar-15 and other such weapons into auto firing as long as you pull the trigger.
“We already have background checks. Go buy a gun and see what happens.”No background check on private sales in Indiana. Just show up with cash. The loophole is real, no matter how much you wish to pretend otherwise. Give me one reason why it shouldn’t be closed.
““Self-defense” has a legal definition:.A person using force in self-defense should use only so much force as is required to repel the attack. Deadly Force may be used to fend off an attacker who is using deadly force but may not be used to repel an attacker who is not using deadly force.”So, owning 1,200 rifles is resonable? If there is a zombie Apocalypse, I have the right to be prepared!
“Bad guys will always be able to get weapons.” This is chanted by the NRA lobby constantly. But some bad guys will not be able to get a weapon with super high killing power easily or fast. They will either be forced to get a less effective weapon and kill fewer people, or go through many more steps to get the weapon of their choice, which will cause many of them to make mistakes leading to their arrest, in which case they will kill no one. Either way, gun control would save lives. So saying “bad guys will always be able to get weapons” means “I’m ok with as many people dying as possible because gun control is not a perfect solution”. Well, there is no perfect solution, so get out of the way of those who want to save lives.

Trump cannot reveal his latest position on guns because it’s currently being audited by the NRA.

People get killed by guns so no point in banning guns that shoot 200 rounds per minute.
