    Good morning Vagabonds.

Reached 98-99 yesterday in Boston and surrounding towns. Then at about 8:45 pm, we had our T storm that lasted all of 10 min. at the most. Big deal, it really helped the water shortage.

Yesterday they removed one chest tube from my daughter and today they are supposed to remove the other one. Yesterday she had a period of not being able to breath that good and so they had to put a mask on her that breathed for you. She still is not felling not too good.

    Morning, Village!

Arthur, we’re still praying for her!

I’m reading Uncle Remus, His Songs and His Sayings, by Joel Chandler Harris. I bought it years ago, and have held onto it because I knew it would be censored some day.

Howdy Vagabonds.Drove home in a T-storm last night, whoa talk about vivid lightening.Last night’s storms put the lights out for some, not ours thankfully.Nick says more unsettled weather for today. Oh, BTY, Nick is the local weekend weather guy..Back with the movies this week: I’m talking about a song and dance man who’s light step and stile made him a movie house favorite. IMDb says he got into show biz at the age of 5 and was successful in vaudeville and Broadway. Some of his works include: “The Gay Divorcee”, “Swing Time”, “Easter Parade”, and in his last movie he joins with Melvyn Douglas, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, and John Houseman in a haunting tail called “Ghost Story”.I’m shore his earlier films will be recognized..Have a fun day folks..ttfn

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

92 yesterday! Ugh! But, a “cold” front moved in during the afternoon/evening, and for the next 2 days it will be lovely…..only in the low 80’s! WooHoo!

Mark……..I know that talent well……watch his movies ALL the time! Love his media description: “Can’t act, can’t sing…dances a little”!!! I would have loved to watch the filming of his films live & in person. Fred Astaire.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

McPheeters, we have a copy of “Song of the South” on DVD. It is a bootleg copy from Singapore that we bought from eBay years ago. I did not know that Disney had never actually released it for DVD, so I bought it in good faith. I should probably get rid of it to clear my conscience, but I just can’t! The music and stories are wonderful.

We still have a few things to do to get ready for our trip. For one thing, we just discovered that the step motor stopped working. We have 2 weeks to fix it!

It is 95 at 10:30 and today’s high is supposed to be 113. Good day to stay indoors.

One more complaint about my computer. I went over to see what the holdup is, and they said the part hadn’t arrived yet. It’s been 2 weeks!

    Good Sunday morning Vagabonds.

After a very hot day yesterday, we had another quick T storm at about 6:00 pm that again lasted about ten min. at the most. Then cooled off after that.

Today is supposed to be a continuation of the heat.

    Happy Sunday Morning, everyone!

The Disney movie, Song of the South, was a very enjoyable film, but it only covers about a hundredth of the book upon which it’s based, Uncle Remus, His Songs and His Sayings. It’s really sad to me that do-gooder liberals have banned both the book and the movie because it violates the rules of political correctness. It is such a beautiful exposé of life in America during a very important time in our history. Some people can’t deal with history so they hide from it or suppress it.

Good morning Vagabonds.Sunshine on the leaves this morning and blue skies, a fine day ahead..Yes to Fred Astaire, I’ll tell you what got me to thinking about Fred. I saw one of my Christmas tapes “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” on the self in which he’s the voice of S.D. Kluger the North Pole mail man, also Mickey Rooney as Kris Kringle/SC and Keenan Wynn as The Winter Warlock..Toons, toons and more toons, Time to (as that great American philosopher says) “Get’er done.”.Good day all..ttfn

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

I actually wore a sweatshirt when we sat out on the deck last night!!! There was a slight breeze, and that translated to “Brrrr”….Loved it!!!

David, we also bought a DVD copy of Song of the South. It was a beautiful movie! Too bad Disney had to take a loss for it. I thought it showed the South as it really was, and we used to delight in how far things have come. This is called “history”!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

We had a good message in church this morning. Pastor Tim is going verse-by-verse through Luke, and we have reached chapter 16 where Jesus teaches his disciples about tithing. Tim spent the first 5 minutes of the message talking about how he hates to preach about money, but “that’s where we are in the book, so here goes”. He managed to get through it without making anyone feel guilty about the amounts they give.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood. 99 outside at noon.

We’re going to the range this afternoon to practice. Noisy, but fun.
