I’m amazed by this. Living in DC when the Metro was new and functioned well I’m sad that it has deteriorated to its’ current state. Even great ideas need good management to succeed.
Seems there was a design flaw, lack of a third track so that maintenance could avoid shutting down service while improvements were made. As John Cleese said, “have I learned from my mistakes? Yes, I believe I could repeat them perfectly.”
