Rat there are probably like 100 peanuts in that bowl. Two aren’t gonna kill you XDAlso, I like how SP got that shiny table effect in this strip. It looks cool! :D

I guess those two summed up the two types of people in the world; those who show compassion and worry about others and those who only think of themselves.

Three things:There is an “I” in “life”.Rat’s last line sounds dirty. Especially if you think about what curse word he might be saying. :0Which two peanuts did he eat? I hope not Snoopy.

Actually, this strip gets it right. Goat’s pretentious guff was meant to distract Rat from what he was taking. Most people fall for that, obviously including many of the commenters.

Seems as though Goat has been dabbling in New Age philosophy. So, today, I will once more go along with Rat. I want my peanuts!

This is one of the funniest PB4S strips ever. Goat’s trying to be philosophical and Rat as always, is being Rat (practical). I’ve captured and printed this to frame and hang on my wall. Thanks Stephan.

Goat has missed the point, even if his argument is sincere and not a cover for nicking rat’s nuts. You’re supposed to be nice to other people for their sake – if you’re only nice to others because you feel that to do otherwise would bring harm to yourself than your motivation is wholly self-interested, and tomorrow you will trample others into the mud if it seems like that will be to your advantage.

Do many bars still offer free nuts?We used to go to a dive in San Angelo, Texas, after our Saturday morning golf game that offered free peanuts, hot peppers, and pickled eggs. All to get you to buy more beer, of course, and it worked like a charm.

I like the negative version of the golden rule. Don’t do something to someone that you wouldn’t want done to you. Keeps busy-bodies away too.

Goat may or may not be happy, but he has a chance of being happy. Rat does not; no matter what he has, he’ll always be scheming to get more.

I think this is a good depiction of the New Age, Shirley Maclaine, head-in-the-clouds, life-is-about-love-and-roses type, and the grounded, skeptical, ruthlessly practical type. I was the first one when I was young, and became the second when I got older. I see other possible interpretations, too. It could be Democrats vs. Republicans. Rat doesn’t like Goat “taxing” his peanut supply. I agree this is one of the best Pearls strips ever.

At first, I misunderstood the second panel. I thought he was saying “There’s no ‘I’ in ‘learning’”, which is kinda cute – makes one do a double take.

To be serious for a moment: this is best as a social message for the whole world, not just politically. Let the nuts go, I say.

Goat must be a Liberal. Hive mind-Resistance is futile. From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. There is no room for the individual. Elite globalists know better than the individual on how to run the “little people’s” lives. Social justice equals social misery & poverty for all. -

A person can show compassion and still be an individual. Come on, people, do you really want to gush out this feelings BS about love and rainbows? I am an individual, not part of the collective, and if that is the future of mankind, then the future is sad indeed, not to mention short-lived.
