Ok, I’m officially totally confused. Last week, while we were watching Zonker buy his title, I commented that Mike’s hair was long again, and someone else responded that the arc with Zonker actually predated the haircut. Yet, here we are with the short-haired Mike, finally ‘leaving the life he’s come to know’. I’m getting whiplash. What year are we in now?

For the most part they seem to be skipping the topical strips, so there’s comparatively little politics.

Which is too bad. The Bernie Goetz-inspired storyline was inspired.

I think Mike’s cigarette is a prop for the movie he’s playing internally. I wish they’d re-run the “Inside Reagan’s Brain” sequence.

Has there ever been another strip where Mike is seen smoking?

This whole timey-wimey thing is a little confusing, but still entertaining.

So Mike’s feeling a generation gap for marrying a woman 10 years younger than him, and winds up with one 25 years younger than him? (Not that I blame him, JJ is nutso)

For a moment I thought she had dyed her hair orange. Then I enlarged the comic and saw the pumpkin.

I think his losing his job and jj becoming a hack helped pull them apart
