Am I the only one who thinks, when taken along with yesterday’s strip, this looks a little like a suicide note?

Okay I don’t want to be alarmist…but Google shows a Twitter link for him. The page won’t connect…but the Google result shows ‘14 hours ago’ “Wow. I even fail at failure.”

Does someone here have Twitter? twitter.com/sungenis

I may be totally paranoid – blog, twitter page and now NAOQV website is down (Internal error 500). I contacted the webmaster about the latter and my paranoia. I’d rather look stupid and have Pab ok as opposed to the opposite.

I’m not sure, but I think this is simply Pab’s way of ending the comic. Kind of like Calvin and Hobbs sledding away into the white blankness of snow.

Very troubling. Hope all is well even if he does end the strip.

I’m really worried. Yesterday’s strip combined with this one definitely set off alarm bells for me. Does anyone have any contact info at all for him? I don’t have Twitter—can someone who does notify them about a suicide risk warning? (I think they can give personal info to the police in those circumstances?)

If it’s just the strip ending, that’s sad, but such things happen..but Pab, your strip’s been amazing. Depression is a living hell and no question but please don’t sail off into the horizon, okay? Even people out in the interwebs are hoping you’re okay.

Called Vineland NJ police department and told them about the concerns some of us have. Provided the address found in the White Pages.

I tweeted him that his loyal fans were worried, that I loved the strip and that he isn’t a failure. A little lame, but what can you do in 140 characters? Glad he responded that he’s okay earlier.

Frankly, I will take “Not dead, that’s all I will say” and consider myself lucky to have gotten any (indirect) response at all; much better than alternatives. Hey Pab, if your loyal fans can do anything to help, let us know, okay? Rooting for you!

    Paul’s husband here.

He’s not dead. He’s suffering from chronic pain and depression. He has sought help.

Thank you all for the concern.
