It looks like Mr. Varvel has (accidentally) made the point that traditional values include discrimination.

Bigotry is a traditional value?

Traditional values only apply to other people. Conservatives can do what ever they want but they are loath to see others do what they want.

When ones traditional values include discrimination tolerance has already been given a back seat.

There was a land of Cavaliers and Cotton Fields called the Old South. Here in this pretty world Gallantry took its last bow. Here was the last to ever see Knights and their Ladies Fair, of Master and Slave. Look for it only in books, for it is no more than a dream remembered. A Civilization gone with the wind . . . .

Gone With The Wind.I don’t mind seeing certain traditional values going down the toilet.

The Traditional Values of “Love Thy Neighbor” and “United We Stand” go down the toilet when we make up silly bathroom laws to check in each other’s undies. Traditional Values is flushed down the toilet when we suspect each other of being pedophiles following each other into the bathroom, instead of being part of a community and working together. Traditional Values of working hard and making a living for yourself and family are flushed away when you can’t even make a living wage anymore. I’m with Varvel, bring back traditional values, keep government out of the bathroom, and put them back on fixing the economy and the infrastructure.

You’ve been peeing with trans people for years. Not one documented instance of anyone being molested by said trans people. Get over it.

This strip is right on….Traditional values in this country mostly include hating and discriminating against anyone who doesn’t look or think like most other white “Christian” male Americans…you know….gays, lesbians, blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, women in some cases..

First is was drinking fountains…now it’s bathrooms. Does anyone really think that a man would dress up like a woman to attack a woman in a public bathroom? Sounds like a lot of effort just putting on the mascara and foundation. tsk

Moral ideals accepted by the majority of citizens help tamper down the level of sin which produces evil activities and disrespect of authority that God established to govern and discipline wrong acts and encourage acts of good and respect for our fellow humans.-Varvel’s cartoon bathroom is not Obama’s, it is every public bathroom in American schools and businesses! The DOJ and the DOE liberals have opened new and safer hunting grounds for abusers of women and children.-I pray that God helps Christians and voters who prefer a peaceful and safe environment will unite to legally oppose this travesty and unconstitutional “legacy” Obama is trying to leave by using unlawful and false propaganda to “sell” voters to accept it in the mistaken name of “tolerance” the Bible, God’s Word, warns us not to do! “Tolerance” of Evil is no virtue. “Tolerance” got the stubborn sinners punished by God in the days of Noah. “Tolerance of Evil” will bring punishment by Fire the next time, after much suffering from the consequences of the choice of Scofflaw living.

It is far better to have people dressing and identifying as women going into the Men’s room and people identifying and dressing as men going into the Women’s Room, right?

I am surprised we haven’t had protesters designating a day of protest to do cross-dress en masse and do that.

Actually, if we are looking for a parallel to the current situation, the Dred Scott case fits the bill..In that case, northern states had deviated from the “traditional values” of the day to promote a greater standing for black citizens (not equal, unfortunately, but greater), and sought to limit discrimination and outright restrictions on the liberty and freedom of human beings, at least within their bounds..A reactionary government body intervened to overrule their local laws, declaring that prohibitions against slavery were never valid. They went even further, declaring that regardless of the will of a state or community, that a slave was always a slave, and could never be freed or recognized as a citizen, and that no protection of their rights would be valid. This was cheered from those who feel that slaves are sub-human, and that anything to the contrary is an attack on “traditional values.”-Fast forward: Charlotte passes a provision to recognize LGBT equality within its bounds, as a reflection of their values and a promotion of non-discrimination. A reactionary government body, relying on fear and misinformation, not only overturns the one provision at the core of the hard questions, but declares that no community can recognize these people as being protected under the law..There is a shameful, monstrous legacy here. What’s even worse is how many people are attempting to lie about our history in order to cover it up.

That’s a powerful statement. I admire her for her passion and her humanity.

The traditional value of having your head in your crotch while the rest of the world simply relieves themselves and goes on with life.
