Piro is a loser. Glad he is on the edge of things. Bernice deserves better. She is not for Gunther, either. Greg has yet to come up with the right one for Bernice, but if he does, he will probably write him off like he did Quill.

Oh so many possibilities. Will Piro show up before or after they leave? If he does not will they actually go to get dessert and actually connect? Bernice is besotted and clueless, Gunther is maybe besotted and clueless as to asserting himself romantically. And those are two tracks. If Piro shows up will Bernice shoosh Gunther away? Will Gunther assert himself if that happens? Who knows? As Dylan sings “the answer my friends is blowing in the winds.” Until tomorrow anyway.

If G & B go in the same direction, then they could be headed for a “happy-ever-after” relationship. And never seen or heard from until some Sunday edition.

Knute and Crystal have a compatible, best-friend relationship. No conflicts. And we seldom see those two, anymore.

Uh, WHY did You Two ALLOW Hairball to get THAT “Comfortable” ON You during the movie???

    Oh, Nevermind.

By ALL Possible Means You SHOULD “Leave” Very, VERY Quietly so as NOT to Wake the “Sleeping Parasite.”

But Gunther, Just BEFORE You Close the Door, Get a Couple of Matches and Stick One on the Tip of Hairball’s shoe and LIGHT It, and Acquaint the Youngster with a Good Old Fashioned Custom Known as the “Hot Foot.” Then Maybe He’ll Change His name form “Hair” to “Scream.”

    ….,WHAT???

Gunther gets points for persistence, even after learning that, Bernice contrived a way to “couch” with Piro, rather than share any genuine interest in the silents. I would most like to know Bernice’s inner state right now. Anything to escape the all out Hair assault? Intrigued by Gunther’s new found directness? Keen disappointment in Piro’s no-show? And, in regard to another post, I wouldn’t rule out sexual tension between Gunther and Bernice.

Okay, NOW Bernice is being completely clueless if she still does not have an interest in Gunther. “Take you for dessert” is clear date speech. Defusing language to get back into friendship territory could include things like, “I really appreciate the ride. You provide that and i will pay for dessert. It will be good to talk.” If she is not interested and he provides dessert then i coukd totally see him becoming justifiably miffed.

5Oh, no! Today’s comic has me concerned that:1) Gunther may succeed in getting the romantic interest of Bernice. 2) Piro will show up after Gunther and Bernice leaveI am still going to maintain hope that Greg IS NOT planning to have Gunther and Bernice become a dating couple. But the turn of events today has me worried that Gunther and Bernie becoming a couple is actually Greg’s plan. While I am sure that if we do end up going down the Gunther-Bernice “couple” route, that Greg will do his typically excellent job of keeping it interesting somehow, I still personally think that there would be a lot more fun and interesting possibilities by having Piro and Bernice date (and hell, for that matter, having Gunther and Tiffany date). As for Hair…. well, his “comedic relief” potential is wearing rather thin (quickly approaching that of the knees of his jeans). Falling asleep at the movie…. and of course falling asleep across the laps of Gunther and Bernice feels more annoying that funny. Although, I think it would be interesting to learn more of Hair’s back-story too.

If Bernice does decide to go out for a dessert with Gunther, I sure hope she doesn’t spend the whole time just talking about Piro. And at the same time, I hope Gunther doesn’t start talking about his ‘long term plan’ about them getting married and having kids.

One step at a time, Gunther. Why not ask her about her trip to New York?

    Hey Everyone:

I am not very good at locating things in the archives, so I thought one of you would be able to help me out more quickly just through your memory:Which University was it that Delta decided to attend in Washington, D.C.?Was it a) George Washington University, b) Georgetown University, or c) Howard University? I am pretty sure it was one of those big three, but I cannot recall which one. Any help would be appreciated.

@ Schrodinger’s Dog. I agree. Wouldn’t mind having Rosa come back and I really Like Dez’s quirky new age insight to Delta’s self righteous smug attitude about doing what’s right.Sometimes I got the feeling that Delta was doing humanitarian things b/c it looked good on a college app or resume as opposed to doing it b/c she really felt it was the right thing to do. Dez seems really compassionate b/c she lived and experienced it… where Delta’s compassion seems manufactured from a competitive upscale upbringing having parents that insisted their offspring be overachievers.

Before you get up off the couch (and out from under Hair-brain), pull his headband several inches off his forehead and let it snap back. “Oops, sorry.”

“The Sleeping Hair” would be a good name for a rock band. Or a b-movie grade campy horror flick.

I’m not really a fan of a Gunther-Bernice pairing. Would rather see Bern-Piro and Gunth-Tiff, if we’re staying within the realm of current established characters only. Although, one redeeming factor would be the marriage announcement for Berger-Halper. I usually skip over that aisle in the supermarket.

I’d in any case prefer to see Gunther with Tiffany, a potential relationship with lots of depth and fun possible….

Every guy should have a “Tiffany” somewhere in his life, if only for a little while. Bernice can pull on a clean tee shirt and be ready for the movies. But, a Tiffany, with the hair, makeup, and sexy clothes has to be seen. You would take her to a play or concert and show her off at the champagne after-glow. I’d compare her to winning the Stanley Cup……..a real trophy…..but, you can’t keep it.
