    Morning, Village!

Had a great time visiting the kids, especially the grandson. He’s just learning to walk and we took videos of him taking his first feeble steps. So darn cute!

And today I have a funeral. A man in one of my former churches.

Howdy Vagabonds.Another beautiful day starting outside with a high forecast in the mid 80s. The only draw back is we’re starting to get into drought conditions..Yesterday was a good day to go down to the nephew’s house. The great niece just turned sweet sixteen, such a pretty young woman she’s becoming..David, If your on Face Book friend me and post some pics..Well, let me see how many of you are familiar with the “Beverly Hillbillies”:1. What did the Hillbillies call their swimming pool?2. What was the name of the family dog?3. Name the banker who held Jed’s account? Can you name the bank? (extra cred)4. Name his long suffering secretary? That should do it for today, happy hunting..Take what God gives you and have a good day..ttfn

    Good morning Vagabonds.

    Another nice day today.

My oldest daughter is having a yard sale so I think I’ll drop by and see how they are doing. It’s a good way to clean out your house. We have sent some stuff over to her to sell. We don’t care about the money as long as we get rid of it.

My grandson is stopping by this afternoon to do some fixing to my computer. Just minor stuff that drives you crazy.

    Hi Everybody in the Village,

Going to be another great day today. It got up to 77, and down to 48. I feel like I even got a ton of things done, too. Since it will be cool again, I’ll bake some bread this afternoon. I make a crusty bread that I add rosemary and garlic to that really is great!

Mark……….We used to watch the Beverly Hillbillies a lot, but, I’ll be durned if I can remember anything but that Nancy Culp was the secretary. I’ll wait for everyone else to fill in the blanks. Love your questions!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Mark:1. the pool was the see-ment pond2. I’m not sure about the dog, either Duke or Blue3. Milton Drysdale was the banker, I don’t remember the bank 4. Jane Hathaway was the secretary who was in love with Jethro Bodine. Now I’ll go look up the bank and the dog.

We’re starting a quilting ministry at church today. It should be a lot of fun, as well as a way to comfort someone in need.

According to IMDb, the dog was Duke, and the bank was the Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills. (Named after a bank in Kansas City, which was near creator Paul Henning’s home town of Independence, MO)

    Happy Sunday Morning, everyone!

    Morning, Village!

I’ll be preaching today. One of my former churches asked me to come back and fill in while they undergo pastoral transition.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

I’m baking my 7 grain crusty bread in the cool cool of the morning. It makes the house smell so good! We’re back to summer, weather wise……80’s for the next week. Not too bad, until the sun hits the den in the late afternoon, then it’s an oven. We’ve learned to put one of those really big vortex fans downstairs in the theater room, aim it upstairs, and it cools things very well upstairs. We’ll see how it does when it’s in the 90’s later on in the summer.

Loved your research, Jan. I had forgotten about the “see-ment pond”. What fun that was!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

After I posted yesterday, I asked Michael if he remembered any of it. He had all but Mr. Drysdale & the bank name. Mark you’re right about Drysdale’s first name – at least I got 4 of the letters right…. The truly funny thing about this is that beyond the first few seasons, I really didn’t watch it. Considering that it debuted in the early 60’s, it must have imprinted on my “tween” brain.

Communion today. I am always blessed by that. The pastor’s wife (who has a beautiful voice) sang “Change My Heart, Oh God” while the elements were being passed.

Now off to the World of Warcraft with my hubby. Everyone have a great Sunday.
