If the bird pecks the balloon the little guy will be jetted off into space.

Nice colors. Can’t tell what the animal is. Looks like a wolf’s head with a cat’s tail. I don’t get it either.

I’m also confused. I know it’s a cat, from the tail. I’m actually leaning toward thinking the bird is a picture *on* the balloon. The white halo isn’t representing “inside”, it’s just there because filling it in with that dark red would have made the bird really hard on the eyes.

Do fairs have balloons with food on them? I’ve never seen a hot dog on a ballon, but maybe an ice cream cone or something? So maybe the joke is that he’s a cat, so instead of people food he has a bird on his balloon. I don’t know.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one confused.

bleeep, if I hadn’t already posted about my confusion I would have posted this as a joke:

Ah yes, so true! The artist has adeptly captured the state of social media today. Twitter, with its stifling 140 character limit, confines the user to a tight, cramped expression. It causes its users to think in short, trivial bursts like a child! And like a child, this social media infant is forced to cling to its larger predecessors - myspace, facebook, and others. I especially enjoyed the symbolism of their backs being turned on their own users.

Or…it’s just a cat with a bird balloon.

How would you get a bird INTO a balloon?

Back in the 60s, “Mickey Mouse in a glass house” was sold at parades where I lived. A black balloon in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head (with the trademark ears) was inside a clear balloon.

Four years have elapsed, and this cartoon is still a mystery.

    It’s a funny-looking cat, though.
